Position Summary：
To lead a multi-functional Lab Sciences team in Zoetis China VMRD and take charge of developing long term strategies for China VMRD vaccine process, analytical, and formulation functions; build and/or enhance the Lab Science department capabilities, and apply advanced technologies and practical knowledge to the design and execution of upstream & downstream process development for all China local biological projects in Zoetis Suzhou and Beijing sites; lead transfer of vaccine processes and analytical assays developed and validated in VMRD to GMT/GMS and support manufacturing of vaccine pilot batches under GMP regulations; communicate effectively with Zoetis global subject matter experts for experience sharing and troubleshooting; and work closely with China local project teams, RA, QA, and clinical study support crew to deliver objectives according to timelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities：
1. Independently lead the Lab Sciences team to support process, analytical and formulation strategy development for all vaccine projects in China VMRD and coordinate resources from Suzhou and Beijing sites.
2. Acquire talents, develop colleagues in the team, keep up with knowledge and technical advancement in vaccine field, and lead application of novel technologies to solve vaccine process, analytical and formulation challenges.
3. Continuously improve general practices in the Lab Science department, actively participate in project team discussions, make strategical recommendations for project future directions, and help team members design trial protocols, execute experiments, analyze data, and prepare reports,
4. Effectively collaborate with partner groups including GMS, RA, QA, project teams, and commercial group.
5. Coordinate validation and transfer of vaccine processes and analytical assays from VMRD to GMS
6. Support manufacturing of GMP pilot vaccine batches in GMS and help vaccine dossier submissions to regulatory agencies.
7. Maintain efficient communications with Zoetis global organizations and leverage global subject matter experts for troubleshooting and experience sharing.
9. Be in charge of non-project activities for the team and ensure safe and compliant laboratory operations.

Requirements (if applicable)：
1. Master’s degree with at least 10 years working experience or Ph.D with ~ 5 years experience in bioengineering, chemical engineering, cell biology, microbiology/virology or other related biotechnology disciplines.
2. Experience in upstream and downstream biological process, formulation, and analytical assay development; vaccine R&D expertise and management experience are preferred.
3. Good presentation and communication skills, fluent in English (both oral and written).
4. Innovative mind-set, team player, self-driven, cooperative and accountable.
