JobDescriptions
BDisamedicaltechnologycompanythatserveshealthcareinstitutions,lifescience,researchers,clinicallaboratories,industryandthegeneralpublic.BDmanufacturesandsellsabroadrangeofmedicalsupplies,devices,laboratoryequipmentanddiagnosticproducts.BDDiagnosticSystems(BDDS),abusinesssegmentofBD,isaleadingproviderofproductsforthesafecollectionandtransportofdiagnosticsspecimens,aswellasinstrumentsandreagentsystemstoaccuratelydetectabroadrangeofinfectiousdiseases,healthcare-associatedinfectionsandcancers.BDDSChinafocusesonimprovinghealthoutcomesforpatientsbyprovidinglaboratorieswithsolutionsthatimprovequality,enhancelaboratorysystemproductivityandinformmedicaldecisions.BDDShasstate-of-the-artResearchandDevelopment(R&D)facilitiesinChinathatprovidesanoutstandingworkenvironmentwhichenableshighlytalentedworkforcetobethebestattheirprofessions.

BDDSChinaisseekingaScientistorSeniorScientisttoworkwithinateamsupportingdiagnosticsystemsR&D,especiallyinPOC(PointofCare)andlateralflowimmunoassaydevelopment.

DutiesandResponsibilities
1.SuccessfulcandidatewillbeapartofR&Dteaminproductdevelopmentandin-depthproductsupportofDSsystems.
2.CandidatewillworkcloselywiththeWWR&Dteamtoaddressfieldcomplaintsofcurrentproducts
3.ConductduediligenceofpartnersinChina/Asia
4.DevelopnewassaysorportoverassaysfrompartnersspecificallyforChina/Asia
5.Supportinvestment/businesscasedevelopmentforR&DprojectsforChina/Asia
6.WorkwiththeOperationsteamtoimproveCOGS(CostofGoodsSold)andsupportsustainingengineeringinitiativesforproductsproducedinSuzhou
7.AssessthecurrentproductformatandproposedesignsforChina/Asiaattherightcostpointsappropriateforthemarket
8.WorktogetherwiththeR&D,OperationsteamsorindependentlyintheexperimentaldesignsandexecutionofappropriateanalyticalverificationandvalidationstudiestolaunchWWdevelopedassays
9.Collect,record,reportandpresentresultstoR&Dpeersandmanagers,withgoodoralpresentationandscientificwritingskillsinEnglish.
10.ProvidetechnicalinputtootherassociateswithinR&D,Operations,Marketing,SalesorMedical/RegulatoryAffairsfunctionsandprovidetechnicalsupportinpursuitofprojectobjectives.
11.KeepupwiththelatestPOCresearchandcompetitivedynamicsacrossabroadrangeofinfectiousdiseases,healthcare-associatedinfections,sepsis,cardiovascular,cancer,etc.

Qualifications
1.Independentorworkinteamenvironmentwithprovenabilitytoapplyscientificprinciplestoachieveprojectobjectives,includingthedesignandexecutionofexperiments,andanalysisandinterpretationofdata.
2.Experienceinabroadrangeofpracticaltechniquesinclinicalmicrobiology/immunology/biologywithdemonstratedskillsindeveloping/adaptingprocedurestomeetspecificobjectivesandtosolvetechnicalproblems.
3.Experienceofprocessingclinicalsamplesfortherecoveryofetiologicalagentstogetherwithastrongbackgroundinclinicalmicrobiology,virologyand/orclinicallaboratorysciencesisadvantageous.
4.KnowledgeofcurrentGoodManufacturingPractices,designcontrols,andproductdevelopmentaredesirable.
5.Excellentverbalandwrittencommunicationskills(proficientinbothChineseandEnglish)arenecessarytogetherwithahistoryofself-motivationandworkinateamenvironment.
6.Candidateswithpriorexperienceinclinicalmicrobiologyorassay/systemdevelopmentorwithfairunderstandingofclinicalresearchinclinicalmicrobiologyordiagnosticswillbegivenpreferredconsideration
EducationandExperience
?MasterorPhDDegreeinClinicalMicrobiology,Immunology,Virology,orrelatedbiologicalfieldswith4-6yearsrelevantresearchorindustrialexperiencerequiredoracombinationofequivalenteducationandexperience.
?RecentPhDgraduatesinrelatedfieldsreceivedadvancededucationinEuropeorUSAandwillingtorelocatebackinChinaarewelcome
