Responsibilities:
Lead the Med Chem and CADD team
Work with Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning team on early drug screening and discovery (in silico) by means of virtual high throughput screening methods, and advise Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning team to optimize drug-target interaction models/algorithms
In charge of early drug discovery (wet lab), design and optimization for internal discovery programs
Coordinate partnered R&D programs in terms of drug discovery, design and optimization
Coordinate due diligence and decision-making for both internal and partnered programs with respect to intellectual property, pharmacology, competitive landscape and etc..
Manage CRO services (synthesis and assay)
Prepare NCE patent applications in collaboration with external patent attorneys

Requirements:
At least 10+ years’ experience in early drug discovery and design, esp. in small molecule oncology drugs (kinase, epigenetics and etc.), peptide-based drug experience is a plus
With deep understanding of certain indications, preferably oncology and relevant drugs
With strong motivation to expand and learn different therapeutic areas and indications
Serve as Project Manager or leading scientist with experience to discover hits, hit to lead, lead optimization and move candidates from early discovery to IND (clinical stage or commercialization is a plus)
Much experience of managing and coordinating CROs in China and abroad
With hands-on experience on critical experiments for research and discovery is a plus
With synthesis capabilities is a plus
Knowledgeable about emerging technology or modalities such as DEL, PROTAC and etc.
Familiar with CADD (computational design, docking, MD, Free Energy Perturbation (FEP), and prediction of properties of small molecules and etc.)
With much experience dealing with various stakeholders during early drug discovery, including but not limited to biologist, pharmacologist, CROs, toxicologist, and BD staff
Multidisciplinary education background in chemistry, pharmacology and other early drug discovery related sciences, PhD degree
Strong interpersonal skills to oversee cross-functional teams to advance discovery programs
Willingness to work in a startup environment
