Principle Roles & Responsibilities / AccountabilitiesProvide epidemiological inputs with solid understanding of strategic business context in the medical planning process for multiple portfolio and pipeline products across therapeutic areasAccountable for the execution of epidemiologic deliverables as defined and agreed in the medical planIndependently design and/or review RWD studies aimed at investigating natural history of disease, treatment patterns, effectiveness, or potential safety signals which may include (but not limited to) automated databases and observational studies (e.g. registry, etc) .Expert in analyzing, interpretation, and communication of complex RWD data. Author or contribute to study reports, publications, and presentations.Manage and collaborate with external vendors on design and implementation of RWD studies. Good understanding of internal and external real-world data sources (private and public).Actively seek opportunities for innovation through science and process improvement to address business needs. Develop and maintain KOL network with epidemiologists in medical/clinical community to ensure appropriate academic consultation/support if neededAct as internal consult to provide technical expertise on the RWE/epidemiology basics. Provide internal/external training.Maintain process standards across the therapeutic areas according to Roche SOPs, China CFDA requirements and GPP guidelines with regard to pharmacoepidemiology
Qualification and ExperienceEducation/QualificationsMaster degree or above in the epidemiology, biostatistics, public health or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum of 3 years of professional experience in designing, implementation and report of epidemiology/observational studiesWorking experiences as real world data scientist/epidemiologist in multinational pharmaceutical company or Clinical Research Organization, experience in oncology studies will be plus
Leadership CompetenciesAbility to work effectively in a matrix team
Job Required CompetenciesExpert knowledge of epidemiology/observational methodologies and applicationsPrevious experience as a key RWD scientist or lead epidemiologistGood knowledge of statistical programming skill (including SAS programming)Strong communication skills and ability to work both, independently and collaboratively, as requiredDemonstrated project management skills is strongly preferredBusiness acumenBe able to handle technical discussion in fluent Engli*********************
